Poll: How Often Do You Swap Your Pillowcase? (And Here’s Why We Ask)

If you spend as much time thinking about being in bed as we do, it’s probably a good time to start talking about sheets. Maybe not the most glamorous convo, but it’s a really important one! Changing your sheets isn’t just something you should do because mom asks you to- it can make a difference in the way you look. Here’s why:

Your pillowcase collects a bunch of dirt and germs that can clog up the pores on your face after a while. From leftover conditioner that you didn’t rinse 100% out to natural oils that collect on your scalp, to grease that naturally occurs on your body, your pillowcase can collect a lot of grime. Dermatologists recommend changing your pillowcases at least once a week, or even more often if you’re someone with acne. Changing your pillowcases more frequently is also a great idea for people with allergies-washing your sheets in hot water kills off the dust mites that can cause pink patches or puffy, itchy eyes.

Ever since learning that changing your pillowcase can have such great benefits for your skin, FP Girl Sadie has been changing her sheets like a mad woman. Every Sunday, she starts off her day by slipping on two freshly washed pillowcases (along with changing all of my towels and sheet) and so far, it’s been working! There’s something so nice about starting the week off with crisp, clean sheets to rest your head on.

But we want to hear from all of you other FP girls!

Poll: Be honest, how often do you change your pillowcases these days?

After you’ve participated in the poll, let’s talk! What’s your motivation for changing your pillowcases? Do you pull out the fresh sheets because mom asks, or because the drool or dust mites keep you on top of the situation? How do you remember to change them?

Okay so I usually do because my mom tells me to. Never thought of different reasons why to switch it out though….dust mites? New pillowcase please! :)
