Life Hacks For Everyday Life

Life Hacks For Everyday Life

Everyone wants to make their lives a little easier, and we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that you can use to give yourself an edge everyday!

Check out these helpful life hacks!

For more sleep:

Shower at night

This gives you more time in the morning to stay in bed, and means you won’t be rushing to dry your hair before you head out the door.

Lay out (and try on) your outfit for the next day

If you’re someone who needs to go through 30 outfits before finding the right one this will make a HUGE difference. It saves you the stress of trying on a million shirts while racing the clock if you do it the night before.

Prep a breakfast, or something you can take on the go

If you’re out the door early in the morning knowing there’s something in your fridge to fight off mid morning hunger is always comforting. If you don’t have time to prep anything the night before, keep granola bars and fruit on hand, that way whenever you find yourself in a bind, you won’t go hungry.

Get a free sleep tracking app

There are tons of apps for iPhones and androids that are made to track your sleeping patterns, so that you wake up in your lightest form of sleep. It sounds weird and unnecessary, but ultimately it wakes you up feeling more refreshed!

To be more organized:

Write a to-do list for the next day before you go to bed

Something helpful to make part of your night time routine is to think of all of the things that you need to get done the next day. Things can get lost in the shuffle if you’re particularly busy, or don’t really have a minute to stop and think about what needs to get done, so writing it all down the night before lets you remember things with a clear mind.

Keep a planner or a calendar with your schedule in it

This one seems obvious, but seeing all of your commitments laid out visually gives you the opportunity to see when you have time to pencil in watching a movie or going to the gym, and keeps you aware of when you might not have so much free time.

Set reminders on your phone if you’re super forgetful

This one is self explanatory. If you’re known to leave half of your things at home when you leave in the morning, or are constantly forgetting when you have plans this is the best way to keep yourself on track.

To eat healthier:

Make your food colorful

No, we don’t mean to tie dye your food, we just mean include a lot of variety in your diet! Tomatoes, bell peppers, squash, asparagus, broccoli, eggplant, and beets. If you think you don’t like veggies, remember that there’s tons of different options out there, as well as multiple ways to cook them. Make a list of all the veggies you can think of and check them off whenever you’ve tried it, that way you can find out what you do like!

Carry a reusable water bottle

There’s no doubt having a reusable bottle with you all day is more environmentally safe and convenient than buying a fresh plastic bottle every time you’re thirsty. Carrying one of these earth-friendly bottles also prompts you to drink more water than you would otherwise, which is always a good thing!

Exercise when you watch TV

We all know how easy it to lose track of time once your favorite show comes on and you get comfy in front of the TV. Unfortunately this can lead to bad habits of inactivity. Make a deal with yourself that for every 30 minutes of TV you watch you will do 50 jumping jacks, 15 pushups, or 30 sit-ups, or all three if you really want to get moving!

Thrifty life hacks

Make your coffee at home instead of buying it everyday

This simple switch could save you tons of money, especially if you’re prone to having one to two cups of coffee a day. The same could go for other hot drinks, i.e. tea, hot chocolate, all of these are quick and easy to make at home and it saves you the extra $2 you would usually spend!

Save money on clothes

I can bet that you have at least 5 pieces of clothing in your closet that you don’t wear, why not sell them? You’re likely to have a friend or two that would be interested in them, if not, there’s plenty of cool apps like Poshmark that let you buy and sell used clothing. You can use the money you make to buy new clothes or save up for something special!

Have a DIY spa day

Getting your nails done frequently can really add up, so instead, start painting your own nails. This can be a great activity to do with your girlfriends if you make a day of it! Make homemade facials, hair masks, and body scrubs to take home. There’s tons of recipes for these online, your body and your wallet will thank you!
