Sunday Inspiration: Remembering those 1st Days…
I was at my oldest son’s swim meet all weekend in Boston. After just having my baby girl 2 1/2 weeks ago via c-section, I had to TOTALLY take it easy this whole weekend. I know being there brought my son joy and happiness, and that was ALL that mattered.
But… it was my youngest little one that attracted most of the attention from the crowd.
I had a mother come up to me during the swim meet this weekend and tell me how much seeing my 2 1/2 week old baby girl inspired her and made her smile. She had just gotten into an argument with her 12 year old daughter about her not concentrating enough on her swim race and how she seemed to be more concerned with playing games than swimming. This woman obviously wasn’t happy about getting into a fight with her daughter, I could tell because she looked like she was about to cry about it. She told me when her daughter stormed off, she then saw me holding this tiny baby girl and it brought her back to the days when her own daughter was that small and tiny. She had forgotten how special that time was and how fast it all goes by, and how ridiculous their little mom-daughter fight really was when she stopped to think about it.
She told me to always remember the 1st days because that’s what we “re-taught” her that day. Those 1st days… when everything is so innocent.
It made me smile.
