Craft of the Day: Snow Globes!

With winter coming right around the corner, these homemade snow globes will allow you & your loved ones the ability to make a winter wonderland right in your own home! We promise you’ll have a grand time making these super easy crafts! Like this idea? You’ll have to thank Marthastewart.com!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

* Find any jar (like Baby-food or olive jars).

* Next look for small plastic or ceramic figurines at toy shops or in your own child’s collection! (Synthetic evergreen tips can be found at floral-supply stores.)

* Finally, you’ll need to get oil-based enamel paint, sandpaper, epoxy, distilled water, glitter, and glycerin (you can find them at drugstores).

TO BEGIN:

1.) If the jar lid isn’t already colored, simply paint them with theoil-based enamel paint & let dry.

2.) Sand the inside of the lid until there is a rough surface. Then with clear-drying epoxy, glue the toy figurine of your choice to the inside of the lid & let dry again.

3.) Fill up the jar to the top with distilled water & add a little pinch of glitter & a tad of glycerin to the water to keep the glitter from falling too quickly - make sure not to add too much or else the glitter will stick to the bottom of the jar when it’s flipped.

4.) Screw on the lid, making sure to be careful not to shake/move the figurine.

5.) Turn the jar over & back again & let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
