(A big thanks to Pillsbury for the idea!)
Ingredients:
1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated gingerbread or PB cookies
64 small pretzel twists
64 semisweet chocolate chips (about 1/4 cup)
16 candied cherries, cut in half, if desired
Directions:
1.) Heat the oven to 350°F. Next, use your hands to shape the roll of cookie dough into a triangular-shaped log. Make sure the dough isn’t too soft to cut - place it in the freezer if need be!
2.) Next, use a sharp knife to cut the log of dough into 32 (1/4-inch-thick) triangular slices. Put them on an ungreased cookie sheets (2 in. apart). Don’t forget to place 2 pretzel twists on each triangle near the corners for antlers!
3.) Then bake 7 - 11 minutes. While warm, lightly press 2 chocolate chips into each cookie for eyes & 1 cherry half for the nose. 4.) Let stand until chocolate chips are set (15 minutes) then remove from cookie sheets.
5.) Store between sheets of waxed paper in tightly covered container.
*PS: You can use M&M’s or gumdrops as substitutes for the cherry nose!
