Parents, did you know that June is National Internet Safety Month? While we know it’s important to keep our kids safe always on the internet, and that the internet and social media is here to stay, we want to stress the importance of internet safety by sharing a free e-book with you.

Growing Up Online is a 62-page book that you can download with your kids that features videos from NBC news journalists we’re all familiar with — Brian Williams, Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Dr. Nancy Snyderman. Through informative, media-rich tools, parents can discuss with their children real-life situations that might happen when they go online. The e-book is formatted such that the beginning is a learning tool for parents and the second part includes a portion that has interactive video comic books where parents can discuss the possible online situations and predict outcomes.

This book is vital for parents and children for many reasons. Did you know that by age 2, most children already have an online history? And that by age 5, 50 percent of all children regularly use a computer or tablet? While 74 percent of all parents worry about their kids safety on Facebook and one in three kids has been cyberbullied, a book like Growing up Online is an important and necessary tool for any parent who wants to keep his children safe online.
