What Are Your Tweens Eating For Breakfast?
There’s no denying it, and we’ve heard it since we were old enough to listen to our parents: Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. And our FPgirls KNOW this! While we know that mornings are not exactly made for leisurely mealtime (who wants to get up an hour before we have to in order to eat?), we also know that there is time for healthy meals every morning. We gave the girls some great tips in this recent post on healthy breakfast on-the-go and they, in turn, had some great tips to share too!
Many of the girls agreed that fruit is a quick and easy on-the-go breakfast choice and that creating parfaits with granola or blending up fruit smoothies were even better options:

You’ll need: Some fresh fruit. (Personally I like apples, grapes, and bananas, but you can mix up any fruits you like). You’ll also need a container of yogurt (It doesn’t matter which flavor – try to make it go with the fruits that you choose).
To make: Cut your fruits on a cutting board. (If you’re not capable of cutting by yourself, ask an adult). Throw your cut-up fruits into a bowl. Add about a cup of yogurt. If you want, you can add some granola. Enjoy!

What we love here at FPgirl is the way the girls interact with each other and support one another within the community. They are always encouraging each other. For instance, iluvnumber6 responded by saying this:
You must be a really good yogurt parfait maker. Maybe open a yogurt parfait business that encourages people to be healthy and choose that rather than ice cream!

And apples seem to be the favorite fruit of choice!

sugarcat said: Let’s have a health conversation. Have you heard about the phrase, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!” You’d still need checkups but you’d always be healthy if you eat enough fruits and veggies. YUM! And the right amount of everything!
angelinamorse said: I also eat oatmeal with apples, or just plain oatmeal. I like them both but I like the oatmeal with apples the best.
iyama1234 said: I think breakfast is a great way to start off your day and especially having a healthy one that will get your day started off good and active already.
sk8rsrule116 said: My tip is: grab a cup of yogurt and add some nuts or, my fave, blueberries. It’s healthy and quick. What I normally do though is grab an apple, some dry cereal when I’m in a hurry. I luv apples!
And to sum things up, sugarcat said:
I think everyone who posted has a good healthy appetite and should keep it up!
Sugarcat, we couldn’t agree more! Parents, don’t you think these girls have amazing ideas about breakfast and how important it is to make the right morning choices?
