It’s Teacher Appreciation Week!
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
- Henry Adams
Teacher Appreciation Week officially starts today, May 2nd! This is a special time of year when kids (and parents) show their love and thanks for those teachers who are so often taken for granted. They have consistently supported us as mentors & educators throughout the school year & saying “Thank You” is the least we can do. Whether it’s a thoughtful thank you note or a handmade craft, it’s important to show these great instructors how much they really mean to us. Try out this fun ideas & let your teachers know how great they really are! [Thanks Activity Village for the inspiration!]
Homemade Painted Flower Pot!
- Materials: (1) dry flower pot (terra-cotta) or whatever else you can find at your local craft or hardware store), a pencil, different colored acrylic paints and brushes & newspapers (to prevent a mess)
- **
- How to make it:
-
- To begin, use the pencil to draw your design (pretty flowers, a swirly pattern, your teacher’s name, etc.) on the side of the pot!
- Next, use the brush to paint on various colored acrylic paints to complete your design. Don’t forget to wash the brush each time after using a color, so as not to mix the paints!
- Let the pot dry completely.
- Finally, plant some pretty flowers in the pot before giving it to your favorite teacher! Or, simply fill it with cool gardening gloves & a few packets of seeds to let them grow their own flowers!
Have fun & thanks to all the wonderful teachers out there!
