Recipe of the Day: Pigs in a Blanket!
Most of us have had Pigs in a Blanket at holiday parties over the years, but have you realized how easy they are to make?! Now you will!
Make them for your holiday party! Thanks to www.cookingwithmykid.com for the idea!
Ingredients:
1-2 sheets Pepperidge Farm puff pastry, 8-12 regular sized hot dogs or mini sausages, flour for dusting, & mustard for dipping
Directions:
1) Preheat the oven at 400 degrees & set unfolded puff pastry out to thaw. 2) Meanwhile, cut hot dogs into thirds. 3) Make sure you lightly dust the counter top, then gently roll out the puff pastry. To make it easier, use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut the pastry into thirds lengthwise, then cut into 1 - 1 1/2 in strips horizontally. (Strips should be just a little bit shorter than the size of your hot dog pieces) 4) Next, take a hot dog or sausage piece & begin rolling it up in a pastry strip. Lightly pinch to seal & press gently with a wet fork to get it to stick together! 5) Continue steps for all hot dog pieces & place on a cookie sheet an inch or two apart from each other for baking. 6) Bake for approximately 15 minutes or until the pastry looks puffy & is golden brown! 7) Serve hot with a side of mustard or ketchup & enjoy!
