i have been in this kinda problem but wat i always do is think of these things.(i will use ur chorus concert for example).
1.what theme is my event?
well it is a chorus concert so mabey something to stand out.
2.what colors r there?
well there is red and blue and silver.so lets see mabey i should match one of the colors.
3.is it fancy?
yes so something more dressy like.
4.will i feel comfortable in this dress?
yes
5.DOES THIS TRULEY SPEAK ME?

Hmmm… I always go with my mood. If I’m happy, I might get a bright-colored outift. If I’m sad, maybe a dark color… but I always try choosing an outfit depending on the type of weather, too. Always make your outfit fun no matter what, though!
Before the event check out what your friends are gonna wear and see if one of them wants to coordinate with you.
i agree with cocomoco311 thats wat i always do but i also go with my mood and the weather ( of course) i do both of theese with evrything even my everyday outfits but i like ur queston i used to ask that all the time and one more tip if u have like an older sister or someone that u trust with fashion then ask them wat they would do but only if ur desperate and u guys have about the saame fashion sense hope this helpped!
I think it always maders on your mood like if your happy or sad.Also it can maders on what weather it is outside like if it’s cold you should wear like dark like black or gray clothes.Also if it is sunny you should wear like rainbow stuff!!!!!!!!!
I would think of a few things what is the event or theme of the party,what is the weather, and try to figure out which colors you like best on you
This is what i would do:
if it was hot outside i would probably wear a short-sleeved dress that has a summer feel.
If it was cold outside i would wear a long-sleeved dress with a winter feel or maybe one with dark colors.
