Get excited, FPgirl, because these frozen chocolate covered bananas are super easy to make and perfect for hot summer days. The bananas taste like banana ice cream when you freeze them…Yum!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A ripe banana Or two. Or seven!
  • Chocolate chips
  • Popsicle sticks Kabob sticks would work, too.
  • A butter knife
  • A bowl
  • A spoon
  • A microwave
  • A tray or plate
  • Waxed paper
  • A cool adult to help!

Here’s what to do:
  1. Prep your space. Make sure you have all your supplies, cover the tray with waxed, and put the chocolate chips in the bowl.
  2. Prep the bananas. Peel them first. You can leave them whole or cut them in smaller pieces. Whatever size you want! Then put the popsicle sticks into the end of the banana. If you’re cutting the bananas into small pieces, you could use toothpicks instead.
  3. Melt your chocolate. The easiest way to melt chocolate is in a microwave, but you have to be careful! Chocolate burns easily. Microwave your bowl of chocolate chips for 30 seconds. Take them out and stir them around, even if it doesn’t seem like they’re melted yet. Then microwave for another 30 seconds, then stir again. Keep repeating that process until they’re all melted and smooth!
  4. Dip the bananas. Dunk your bananas in the chocolate and get them all covered, then put them on the tray. If you want to put sprinkles or nuts on them, now’s the time to do it!
  5. Freeze them! Stick your tray of chocolate covered bananas in the freezer. They’ll need at least a couple hours to freeze, you might want to leave them overnight.

All that’s left to do is enjoy! These are great to make with friends, or bring to a summer party.

Do these sound delicious to you? What will you make them for?
