By Lena Graham / Tween Girl Style Magazine Beauty Editor

1. Drink 8 glasses of water a day!
You have to, without hydrating your become dehydrated and it shows!  Your face and skin will not like you at all, DRINK UP, DRINK UP, DRINK UP!

2. Natural Lotions and Skincare and Moisturizers all day, every day!
Just because it smells good doesn’t mean its good for your skin.  This winter try to make sure you concentrate on ingredients not fragrances for your face and skin. I just recently found an awesome company Terra Dolce that has natural lotions and sugars scrubs to die for.  Aveeno and Studio 277 Cosmetics have soy skin care moisturizers that concentrates on penetrating and hydrating the skin

3. Exfoliate regularly!
Create a regimen and exfoliate your body regularly.

Your face –use a product specific to your face because it is more gentle then what you would use on your body.  St. Ives has the tried and true Apricot Scrub, it is dependable and economical use this to exfoliate your face.  If you are comfortable progress to using a gently micro dermabrasion system 2 times a month to remove dead skin as well.

Your Lips – Yes, I said it scrub those lips ladies, and follow up with hydrating moisturizer will help remove dead skin and make your lips absolutely luscious.

Your Body – Sugar and salt scrubs to wonders for the elbows and heels and any other problem areas you may experience.  Take a look at Terra Dolce for  truly radiant organic salt and sugar scrubs.

4Remove Black Heads and White Heads Properly!
I say this all the time but I can’t say it enough….As tempting as it is do not pop your pimples!  Properly treat and remove them.  If you are not able to do so please consult a skin care professional.  If not done properly scaring can occur along with spreading bacteria.  If experience a stubborn pimple eruption out of nowhere use a little toothpaste and cold water to help expedite the removal process, use your extraction tool to properly remove.  DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT just pop it!

5. Clean your Brushes and do not share mascara!
I know, easier said than done, but dirty brushes make a dirty face!!  Just think about millions of little critters running around on your brushes or sponges and then jumping onto your face…YUCK.  So clean your brushes after each application with brush cleaner to kill all bacteria.

Keep in mind your eye carries so much fluid that when you use your mascara wand you transfer it to the product, If you are sharing mascara you run the risk of spreading all of those fluids which if someone is carrying an eye infection etc. means your mascara is contaminated.  As tempting as it is DON’T.
