Braids are all the rage, especially this summer since there are SO many ways to wear them and since they keep you cool while still looking super cute. Let’s talk about six different awesome braid styles.

1. Fishtail braid. Hello, little mermaid! We love how relaxed this braid is. Even if it ends up a little messy, that’s OK!

2. Ribbon braid. Yep, it’s exactly what it sounds like—you use a piece of ribbon as one of the strands in your braid. Talk about personality!!

3. Peekaboo braids. Most of you hair is down, but then wait—what’s that right there?? A little braid or two poking out! This is known as the best of both worlds, FPgirl.

4. French braid. Totally classic. Totally stylin. This is the braid that can dress you up nicely for a fancy night out.

5. Braided pony. Who says ponytails are boring?? Make a braid for added interest.

6. Halo braid, Heidi braid, Milkmaid braid. All of these names describe the braid that essentially goes from ear-to-ear over the crown of your head. Sweet and whimsical!

OK, these are just six different types, but there are many variations and plenty of other totally different braid types.
