I LOVE this Sunday inspiration post because it’s something I truly believe in… sparkle, baby!

Sparkle wherever you go!

This is something I want my nieces and my daughter (and my 4 sons!) to always know and remember.

Whether they’re working hard in school or athletics or whatever they love… always remember to leave some sparkle!

It just makes people happy! :)

FPmom: A Rewards Program with a Cool Twist

October 25, 2013

Say Hello to a Rewards Program Designed for Moms Just Like YOU!
Do you enjoy watching how much fun your daughter has being an FPgirl and taking part in Club Z? Do you sometimes wish you could be a kid again, just so you could experience our incredible community where girls get to express themselves and people actually listen to them?

Well, guess what? We’ve created a community that’s like Club Z in all its awesomeness, but we’re making it just for moms like you. Say hello to FPmom.

We bet you’re familiar with other popular rewards programs, and, for sure, that’s a BIG part of what FPmom is. In exchange for taking fun surveys from our brand partners, you’ll earn points that you can redeem for fabulous FPgirl products AND gift cards from stores you love, like Amazon, Fandango, and Barnes & Noble. You’ll even be able to make money, just for sharing your opinions.

OK, so nothing really new there, right? That’s what other great rewards programs offer, but like everything else we do at FPgirl, our goal is to go at least 10 steps beyond great and create THE BEST REWARDS PROGRAM ON THE PLANET.

See, with FPmom, we’re building a community filled with passionate, intelligent, funny, caring, we-love-our-kids-fiercely women at every stage of motherhood. Our goal is to engage with you, but also to connect you with each other. Imagine having all the mom-figures from your own world AND your close friends AND all the fabulous women you know from places like work, gym and book club and having them all only one click away. That’s our vision for the FPmom community.

But wait…there’s more. We’re also developing content that matters to you. And no, we’re not talking about content that constantly sells to you—we get how annoying that can be. After all, we’re people, too! We’re talking about real, relevant information that you can use, comment on, and share with other moms you know. And, of course, there are the rewards. Lots and lots of rewards.

Now, we’re still in the early stages of FPmom, but here’s the thing to keep in mind. We know how to grow communities fast. We went from about 100,000 FPgirls at the beginning of 2012 to over ONE MILLION in the summer of 2013. In other words, GET IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR and help inspire and shape this community. You’ll be able to start earning points the MOMENT you sign up, just for answering simple questions (like how your family uses technology).

Interested? It’s EASY and FREE to join. We’d love for you to sign up and become part of our growing community of moms!

Easy Beauty Fun with your Girl(s)!

October 24, 2013

I’m always on the lookout for some fun and easy beauty products that I can “play” with on my (2) tween nieces (Since my daughter is only 3 months old, I rely on my nieces to let me have some fashion and beauty fun with them!). It’s wonderful for me to spend some time with them and to enjoy our time together… and since they LOVE to see what kind of cool new beauty products “Auntie Audrey” has found, I always make it my business to find something fabulous!

Last month I came across Sally Hansen’s Fuzzy Coat.

Oh. My. Goodness! SO MUCH FUN!

It’s confetti for your nails and it’s awesome! As soon as I tried it, I KNEW my nieces would LOVE it!

How cool, right?

It’s just a fun way to add a little texture and creativity to your nails!! I LOVE IT!!

What are some of your FAVE beauty products???

Mom Moment: Love of Learning Starts YOUNG

October 22, 2013

Today I had a precious mom moment.

My 5 year old son Henry asked me this morning, “Can you bring Victoria into the kitchen in her seat so I can give her free math lessons. I want her to be very smart someday.”

So I obliged.

I wanted to share this today because I think it’s such a beautiful thing to see a love for learning and a love for teaching… even at 5 years old.

I remember playing “school” with my sister when I was a child. It was always so much fun and my parents always encouraged it. We would have pretend students, pretend assignments and pretend grading systems. Those moments are precious to me as an adult. When I saw Henry playing “school” with his sister this morning, it made me smile and it made me proud. There’s nothing more important than education… it’s the key to a child’s future.

How do you continue to make learning fun for your children? They grow up from being 5 years old… how do you continue to keep the spark lit?

We’re nearing that spooking holiday everyone loves and the girls over at FPgirl Style Mag are all in agreement that you’re never too old to trick-or-treat. They’ve got some great ideas on what to dress up as for Halloween. If your tween still hasn’t decided what she wants to be for Halloween, here are some suggestions that might help YOU help her in her quest for the perfect costume!

Minion costume - Those adorable little yellow ‘things’ are just too cute!

Duck Dynasty characters - The girls seem to love Uncle Si and the crew over at Duck Dynasty. Grab some camouflage clothes, tape on a beard (a BIG beard), paint your face and you’re ready to go!

Taylor Swift - Have your tween do her hair in some soft sock curls, wear a cute outfit like this or maybe choose from Taylor’s summer style and take along a guitar. Don’t forget to sing, “We are never, ever, ever… getting enough candy!” as you trick-or-treat!

One Direction - This one is super easy! Your tween can put on a pair of jeans and wear a shirt with a British emblem on it. Insta-One-Directioner! If your daughter needs more inspiration, watch the trailer for the movie This is Us for ideas.

Here are more suggestions from the FPgirl members:

  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Queen of Hearts
  • Monster High Girls
  • Katniss Everdeen
  • Katy Perry
  • Zombie cheerleader or zombie princess
  • Creepy Doll
  • Vampire
  • Rainbow Unicorn
  • Girl version of Darth Vader
  • Cleopatra
  • Aphrodite

Need more inspiration for your tween? Here are 10 more costume suggestions for you!

What do you remember dressing up as a little girl? Did you always want to be a princess or did you choose to do something scary? Would love to hear what you were in the comments! What is your tween going to be this year!?

Sunday Inspiration: Don’t forget to be SILLY! :)

October 20, 2013

Amy Poehler is one of the funniest people ever!

I loved reading this quote from her about being silly, about being funny… because there is power in it. Confident people are silly and fun and it’s something to encourage your tweens to be at times!

I think one of the best complements you can receive from someone is, “You make me laugh!”

Life can be serious… just know that it can be silly and fun, too! :)

Happy SUNDAY!
