Black Friday… What if You Don’t Shop?

Black Friday is approaching and if you’re a shopaholic, that’s great! Get up at 4 a.m. and hit the stores for those amazing sales, or better yet, work your way through that Thanksgiving food coma and don’t sleep at all. Clean up that turkey and mashed potato mess and hit the stores at midnight.

But for me, and maybe a couple of you out there, I have other things I’m going to do on Black Friday, the day after the day I bust my gut with a ton of food and offer thanks for all that I have!

Here are a few of those things that I plan to do on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, in no particular order, except for the first item on the list:

  • Sleep in!
  • Eat leftovers.
  • Snuggle on the couch with a cozy blanket.
  • NOT get out the Christmas decorations - it’s still way too early. I want to still relish in the thankfulness that was JUST yesterday!
  • MAYBE do some ONLINE shopping. I am SOOO grateful for that option.
  • STAY as far away from the shopping malls and stores as possible.
  • Stay in my PJs all day long and NOT take a shower.
  • Make a Christmas list… maybe?
  • Read a book or two.
  • Take catnaps all day.
  • Listen to my husband and boys yell at the TV. I’m sure there is more football on today.
  • Hang with my daughter in her bed and watch some crazy YouTube videos she’s always watching.
  • Maybe I’ll let my daughter straighten my hair and do my makeup. She’s always begging me. Black Friday would be the perfect day for a beauty play day!
  • Eat some more leftovers.
  • Take a crisp fall walk. (Even living in Arizona, November is crisp and cool.)
  • Play cards or a fun board game with the kids.
  • Watch Netflix.
  • Go to bed and read some more, then turn out the light and be thankful for a beautiful non-stressed day!
