Updating Fashion Choices: Advice FROM Girls TO Girls
When FPgirl posed the question to the girls, “How can I update my fashion choices?” your girls rushed to help each other out! We love when the girls offer great suggestions over at the Style Mag, and one savvy tween put together a whole list of ideas to share on updating their fashion style!
As parents, we know how challenging it can be to help navigate our tweens to discover their own fashion sense. To have their own place to chat with peers about what to wear, how to do their hair, and what might be in style this season is a fabulous way for them to create their unique senses of style. Kudos to Frances who sent in these tips to help others update their own look:
- Go to a fabric store to look for some neat patterns that you like! Then, look for similar ones in clothing stores! You could always look in magazines or online for other ideas!
- For summer, wear mini jeans shorts and tank tops! (If you’re not comfortable wearing these, take a pair of jeans and trim them down to a length that makes you shine! If you’re not comfortable with tanks, try wearing a tie up shirt with sleeves over top!
- For winter, wear skinny jeans and a cute graphic tee with a jacket over top. Try wearing Uggs if possible! You can get cheap ones at Target!
- Try to wear skirts that you feel comfortable in and to add some pizzazz, wear neon skirts with funky patterns! They will always make you stand out and you will be the fashion diva of your school!
- If your ears are pierced, try wearing a variety of different styles! Sometimes, wear soft, cool earrings and sometimes you can wear really colorful earrings depending on your mood!
- If you want to have a fun friendly look, go to Claire’s for an idea! They will always have the new accessory trend! (Always bring some extra money with you!)
- You could always ask a friend with great fashion sense if they could come to the mall with you to show you where they get all of their fabulous clothing!
- Try expressing yourself with cool nail designs!
I hope these help! Have a great summer,
Frances <3
