Are you as excited as we are for Thanksgiving, FPgirls?! Thanksgiving is all about being grateful for what we have and celebrating with a great Thanksgiving meal. Here are some tips to make sure your Thanksgiving plate is a little healthier this year!
Make it colorful! An easy way to make sure your meal has a lot of different nutrients is to eat things with lots of different colors! Think orange carrots, green beans and leafy greens, yellow squash … you get the idea!
Keep veggies … well, veggies! Vegetables are super good for you, and delicious just the way they are! A little salt and pepper is all you need, leave out the butter and sugar to keep them healthy.
Fill up that water glass! Stick with water instead of sugary sodas or juices. Water will help your body digest your meal, too!
We’re so thankful for our good health and Thanksgiving food. What are you thankful for, FPgirls?? Tell us in a comment!

Most of what we have on Thanksgiving is healthy; fruit platters, veggie platters, sweet potato casserole, broccoli & cheese casserole, macaroni salad, turkey and ham, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and soooo much more. But then there’s the dessert….Pumpkin pie, Peanut butter pie, Carmel apple dessert pizza…..etc. I’ll try 2 eat less dessert 4 a healthier thanksgiving!
I am thankful for food on my plate, a home, and being here KrautHAMMER YOU SO MUCH GOD. I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU TOO JESUS!!!!!!!
Sorry but maybe after New Year I’ll eat more healthy untill (Easter?) But I like texting junk food sry. Maybe I’ll try maybe…
I’m thankful for all the good advice on the style mag… and for all the good thanksgiving food. Going 2 help my grandmother cook some casseroles 4 2morrow and clean 2 day.
We have snow!!! Maybe we’ll have a white thanksgiving!
i do this every year.
Okay!!!

ACK! I cannot decide what sized to choose for the clothing . . . what do you think, FPDanielle? Since the Sheila is a bat wing, I should probably get a size 14 since it is like a poncho and will add a little more, right? And I am also getting the Lacey. I always get a size larger, so I might get the size 16, but I am afraid that it might be too big! Help!
Also . . . would the Peacock inspired by Jessica match a Sea Green Sheila! I am just freaking out because you can’t return custom made products so I want to get this right!
Also . . . I tend to be kind of small for my age (about 4′ 11″, maybe five foot by now, yay!) so I think I should get the size 14, however I am only allowed to wear shirts that come at least down an inch on my thigh with skinny jeans, but I may be getting some regular bootcut in a couple days . . . .
I’m not the best at picking the sizes, but our customer service knows them really well! Email customercare@fashionplaytes.com or give us a call at 1-800-277-2318!
Okay, I just went ahead and ordered the stuff.
I got 16, because even if it is too big I can grow into it (or shrink it in the washing machine!).
SouthKakalakiGal — that was a good idea. Sorry I couldn’t help you with the size suggestion. I think what you decided to do was smart! Hope you enjoy what you bought!
That is okay! My mom said to buy 16, and you can’t argue with mom, can you?
I have advice. Pick the tightest size you could get and if it wears out give it to a sibling.
I think instead of those you should wear a Mariah dress or a Clara dress with leggings.
I know I’m having a healthy thanksgiving because my grandparents always make whole grain foods and lots of veggies! I can’t wait!!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
How did you get the hearts?
My dad is making a grilled turkey. Is that healthy??? Also we are eating cheese cake with relative’s.
Grilled turkey is healthy as long as you don’t eat the skin. Cheese cake is NOT healthy.
awesome tips but what about mashed potatoes
Mashed potatoes I imagine are healthy as long as you don’t have them with butter.
Great ideas!!! I love fruits and vegies!!!
Mainly carrots and apples.

I love tofu and I luv fruit!!!
i will be on the road to florda next week pray for me
Thanks but I am having turkey! And other stuff haha
I will have some veggies though
Turkey is healthy. I am a vegetarian but just don’t eat the turkey’s skin.
Yummy but I don’t like those unhealthy foods you mentioned. I’m going to eat tofu turkey with veggies. Cooked.
P.S. I am a vegetarian.

I am a vegetarian too (I do eat seafood though. Some vegetarians do that because of the amazing health benefits.), but I am not going to eat tofu turkey, because it is not all that good for you and I don’t really like it….
-Preppy Queen <3
HI preppyqueen! Just so you know, I DO eat seafood too. I love the taste. But tofu turkey is healthy
I’m writing from my new tablet! :)! Anyways, I’m a vegetarian so I can’t eat turkey but sugarcat told me about tofurkey and now I’m happy! Thanks, sugarcat!
Look what this tablet can do:
Oops! heehee
Thanks cookieolive! Tofurkey is actually very yummy.
Bon appetite!

That sounds good!
yummy looks good!!
i love it <3 by the way good idea.
I will try to be healthier for Thanksgiving, but if you know my family, we have EVERYTHING!
There are appetizers ,(crackers, cheese, chips, dips, the healthy part; a plate of veggies, and more!) dinner, (turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, etc., and the healthy part; green beans) and last, dessert! (pies, cookies, cakes; cheesecakes and cupcakes and more)! All SO yummy!!
I will try, we drink soda and tea at the parties my family hosts and we are hosting this year!!
My family is like that also. We have green beans and that is about the only thing healthy on the table.
Well if you want to be healthy my advice if that you take some crackers which are healthy and some veggies. You take some mashed potatoes and some green beans. Healthy. And don’t take any of the dessert. If you do not want to skip dessert make a colorful fruit platter and a little honey or the fruit alone makes it healthy yet flavorful. If you are going for more calcium go with yogurt, or cottage cheese. And take some tea.
P.S. Try being vegetarian. But you can still keep seafood going strong. Seafood is healthy and I love seafood. I eat some form of seafood every day. This may not work because I eat too many weird things and not enough normal American things. I know. I do not like stuff like hamburgers and hot dogs or soda or butter. No offense.
Bon Appetite!

Lovely34, they are not saying you have to eat all of these things, or even any! I will try to have a glass of water, a serving of vegtables, and some turkey. Other than that I will basically be eating anything.
yeah, but its just a thought…
ok I am going 2 try it
why will i be heathy on thanksgiving i am just going to eat what ever i want?
I know right’
Well you can still have a feast but keep it in the boundaries. You can choose some healthy foods. They are just kind and want girls to stay healthy.
In good health
