Think You Can’t Get Anything Done in 20 Minutes? Think Again!
Remember when you were a kid in school and you’d stare at the clock and think that the last 20 minutes felt like hours? Nowadays 20 minutes goes by in a nanosecond so when you have a quick 20 minutes to spare, you might feel like it’s no time to get anything done.
With busy days of managing our lives, our spouses’ lives, our kids’ lives and their busy school days, activities and social lives, it’s a wonder we get anything done or have ANY time to ourselves! If you find yourself with a blessed 20 minutes to spare and need some suggestions on what to do with it, we’ve got some ideas for you.
Some of these suggestions can be done if you’re feeling energetic, and some ideas are great if you’re feeling sluggish and need to kick-start your battery in the middle of the day!
- Toss in a load of laundry and fold that load that’s in the dryer.
- Clean out the front seat of the car - you know it’s full of junk.
- Empty the dishwasher or load it really quick.
- “Clean” your daughter’s room. Make sure there’s nothing that shouldn’t be in there. As a mother, that’s completely legal.
- Close your eyes and take what we like to call a ‘snapper’ nap. But if you’re like me, make sure to set an alarm for 20 minutes or you might not wake up for two hours!
- Did someone say amazon.com sales? Browse away!
- Make the kids’ lunches for school tomorrow. You’ll be happy to know it’s done already when 8:00 p.m. rolls around.
- Check out the latest and cutest fashions on FPgirl for your little darling!
- Sip a cup of coffee.
- You probably don’t have enough FB friends, and 20 minutes is plenty of time to round up a couple of new ones! Go LIKE some authors or some new music, or whatever hobbies you enjoy! There’s a page for everything!
- Call your parents. Let them know you’re thinking of them.
- Have a snack! An apple and some cheese and a little bit of protein is a great cure-all for feeling sluggish. Sit at the table and take your time! How often do you eat on the run?
- Skip the e-mail and text, and write a card to a long-lost friend.
- Put on a youtube video and do some yoga!
- Straighten up your bedroom and put clean sheets on your bed. Spritz some good-smelling stress-relieving spray onto your pillows. You’ll love heading to bed in the evening knowing your bed is freshly made.
- Put on some of your favorite instrumental music and close your eyes and just listen.
- Read a magazine. Starting from the front page.
- Make a list of this of things you like to or need to do, and then when your 20 minutes rolls around, start doing YOUR things!
