The month of November is a month full of reasons to be thankful. As parents, we’re constantly on the run, taking kids to appointments, play dates, sports and other activities. You’re helping with homework, prepping dinners, being chauffeur, working, cleaning the house. It’s busy, busy, busy! With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, spend time focusing on what really matters… sometimes it’s just the little things that are most important.

Here, some of our Facebook friends share a few of their favorite and fun reasons to feel grateful this Thanksgiving holiday season:

  • Crisp cool weather changes
  • Turkey and all the accoutrements
  • Weekends where you sleep longer than the kids!
  • Playing in the leaves - great photo opps!
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Opportunities to see extended family members
  • For the writers out there: NaNoWriMo
  • Hot cocoa
  • Movember! (Tell your man to put away the razor to raise funds & awareness for men’s health.)
  • Sitting around the fireplace with the family
  • Pumpkins
  • Men who do dishes on Thanksgiving (a tradition in our family!)
  • Leftovers
  • Toasted marshmallows
  • Roasted walnuts
  • Robust red wines
  • Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade
  • Soup in the crockpot
  • The vibrant colors of fall (glimmering reds, oranges and fiery yellows of the leaves)
  • Crazy shopping hours for those of you who love Black Friday
  • The start of indoor sports
  • Homemade gravy!
  • Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte with whip!
  • Football
  • The smell of burning wood
  • Getting an early start on your holiday shopping
  • Moist maker sandwiches (leftover turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy on wonder bread)
  • Cinnamon tea
  • Watching the dogs play outside
  • Flannel sheets
  • Great holiday movies (Are you taking your kids to see Free Birds?)
  • A four-day weekend in November (sometimes five if you’re lucky!)
  • The promise of the first snowfall
  • Daylight Saving Time (turn your clocks back Sunday, November 3, or Saturday before you go to bed!)
  • Apple, pumpkin and cherry pie
  • Bonfires
  • Time spent with family and close friends… Sharing old memories and creating new ones!

Make this a month of moments to remember and be thankful. What are some of the things in your life that make you grateful?
