Trend Alert: Don’t di-stress out, check out this new trend that girls love!

Ever seen someone wearing a sweatshirt with a faded logo and thought it’s been washed one too many times??  Well, hang on!  ”Distressed” graphics — graphics that that look well-loved — are actually one of this season’s hottest trends!

It’s really no surprise that the style taking off. Think about your favorite pair of soft, cosy, worn jeans — people pay good money for jeans like that! In fact, I remember having to “distress” jeans myself:  Mom would bring home a stiff, dark pair of denim, I’d rub them with sand-paper, run them through the wash a billion times, even cut the hems off so they’d look frayed and cool.

Now, everywhere you go, you’ll spot the same “distressed” look on sweatshirts, tees, and more … the Gap, Old Navy, Lucky Brand you name it.

Here in our Design Studio, we’re noticing that the girls are all over this look too.  From hearts and stars to sports graphics, our designers are pulling in distressed graphics to give their clothes that same relaxed, casual, even retro look.

So moms, don’t stress! It’s a great way for kids to experiment with a new look and be creative — and you’re still getting the same high quality graphics that won’t fade a bit from wash to wash. Everyone wins!!
