Craft of the Day: Homemade Stockings!
Although there are only 2 more days until Christmas (EEK!), there is still time for your little one’s to make some fun & creative stockings - for their dolls, pets, friends or even themselves! Do it with family & have a ball! A big shout-out to http://www.successful-homeschooling-blog.com for the great idea!

Materials: paper grocery bags, scissors, glue, red & white markers or paint, hole punch, yarn, stickers or other decorative items
Directions: 1) Cut the paper bag in half so you have 2 sheets of brown paper. On one sheet, draw the shape of the stocking! 2) Carefully cut out the stocking shape with scissors, then trace it onto the second sheet of brown paper. (You want to make sure you trace the stocking so that any text or print that is already on the bag will end up on the inside of the stocking.) Cut out the second stocking shape! 3) Glue both stocking cut outs together (only around the edges!) to make a stocking! Don’t forget to to leave an opening at the top! Let the glue to dry. 5) Next, paint or color in your stocking! It doesn’t have to be the typical red & white - be creative with colors! Have your little one add some stickers to it to really make it their own! 6) After decorating the stockings (and dried if necessary), carefully punch holes around the edges & use some yarn to “sew” the stocking.
