2 Colorful Summer Activities for the Family!
Tired of your basic tees & shorts? Want to spice up your ragged old tees? Tie-dye is an easy and fun way to revamp your wardrobe without having to buy new clothes! Here’s how:
1) Head to our local craft store & scoop up a tie-dye kit! Each kit will have different instructions, but most follow the same general pattern. Lay out your shirt and fold as desired - the box should come with crazy ways to fold if you want to get funky! Then, prepare the dye (while wearing gloves) as you are pre-treating your clothing in hot water. Once the item is fully soaked, take out and start tie dying!
2) Once this is complete, wash your shirt alone and in cold water. Then, put by itself in the washing machine!
3) After drying, your shirt will be ready to wear! Voilà!
PSST. If you’re not OK with the somewhat messy process, FashionPlaytes makes a super cute and sassy tie-dye scoop neck Lisa tee shirt (see above) that can be bedazzled with unique badges, ribbons and other fun accessories! It’s a great way for girls and moms to bond and do something artistic together without the mess and stress!
Another colorful and easy activity for warm summer days is making POPSICLES! Pour fruit juice into small cups so that the cup is ¾ of the way full. Cover the top of the cup aluminum foil, and then in the center of the foil, stick in a Popsicle stick. Put in the freezer and freeze the popsicles until hard. Take them out and enjoy your summer treat!
Hope you all enjoy & don’t forget to check out our tie-dye at www.FashionPlaytes.com!

At my school we have a “mall”, and everybody earns fake money, each class also makes products, and we have shifts, shop for 30 min. sell for 30 min. One year my class did tye-dye and its fun and creative, and it turns out great.
Sounds AWESOME Kally! What did you end up “selling” this year?
Crystal Egg Geodes, Frobscottle (From the BFG by Roald Dahl), and Tye-Dye Socks.
