Executive in Residence Opportunity:
Are you looking for a rewarding, fun, energizing experience with an innovative, dynamic company? Our Executive in Residence opportunity is a fabulous experience for a professional with a strong marketing or consumer experience background looking to re-enter the work force. We can offer the experience of a lifetime and think this could be a great partnership for the right person. Hone skills and get up to speed on new tools and processes. We are planning a 4-6 month program with a flexible schedule, where you will have the opportunity to shape our ambitious start-up that is transforming how girls interact around fashion.
We hope to find someone proficient in customer acquisition and conversion, with experience in forecasting, modeling and channel development. This role will gain exposure to all the facets of building our business, including market analysis and campaign development, fund-raising, operations, technical website development, brand development and manufacturing both in the U.S. and abroad.
About Fashion Playtes, Inc.:
Fashion Playtes, Inc. was recently funded by a venture capital company and we've received wonderful traction around our business. We are a small, growing team working on an innovative new concept that offers a first time opportunity for girls (and their mothers) to design clothing and accessories and have them produced to wear. Our business combines “gaming for girls” with product customization and development. We are working to create a fun destination for kids, offering a creative, design driven site with a Fashion Gallery and viral elements to share. The team is wonderful, supportive, enthusiastic and collaborative.

Interactive Designer Intern Position with Fashion Start-Up
Are you looking to build a portfolio to showcase your web design skills? Do you have a passion for fashion and want to work in an environment where you can make a difference every day? Can you work at near-warp speed while maintaining a sense of humor and an exceptional attention for detail? If so, you sound like one of us!
We are looking for a talented, well-rounded interactive design intern whoӳ not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves and code once in a while. (We do have a production resource, not to fear!) Help us build our brand while building a fabulous portfolio.
About Fashion Playtes
Fashion Playtes, Inc., is a venture-backed eCommerce fashion site where girls 6-12 can customize their own clothing. We are working to create a fun destination for kids, offering a creative, design-driven site with a Fashion Gallery and viral elements to share.
About the Internship
This is an unpaid position in exchange for school credit and/or the opportunity to build a fabulous portfolio while working on important initiatives including ad campaigns, emails and site landing pages. The ideal candidate will have a strong design aesthetic , ability to design for the web and be able to balance accuracy and an attention to detail while multi-tasking and promptly finishing projects.
Skills/Requirements:
- Working knowledge of Photoshop/Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to code in Dreamweaver to build production-ready designs
- Flash design skills helpful
Social Media Marketing Intern
Fashion Playtes has a unique opportunity for a Social Media Marketing Intern to help grow our brand via various social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and blogs. We're seeking a Web 2.0 enthusiast with a passion for writing, social media and technology, who enjoys and understands content creation, and online communities. The ideal candidate has a passion for journalism, entrepreneurship, communications and/or public relations. A big plus is a love for fashion or retail.
We've a small, ambitious and dynamic startup that is transforming how girls interact around fashion. You will have the opportunity to define campaigns in a game-changing business, with an integral role on our small team. This is a fun, hands-on resume building experience. We are located in Salem, MA and the train station is within easy walking distance.
About Fashion Playtes, Inc.:
Fashion Playtes (www.fashionplaytes.com) is a venture-backed, innovative online custom clothing company dedicated to delivering both a fun and unique design experience and top quality garments to girls age 6-12. We have launched our public beta offering girls the tools and a platform to create and design garments and accessories that can actually be produced to wear. We have received a tremendous response from girls and parents regarding the site experience and the product quality. The product line currently features t-shirts, dresses, skirts, jackets and accessories.
Responsibilities:
- Research our consumer demographic both kids and gift givers (parents, care givers, grandparents, etc.)
- Participate and potentially manage focus group initiatives and surveys
- Manage social media content (i.e. post tweets, facebook updates, comment on blogs, etc)
- Suggest, build and implement marketing strategies to build our customer base
- Share ideas for building the Fashion Playtes brand
- Help identify and coordinate on and offline marketing events such as contests, fashion shows, etc.
